Fractional CTO and technical advisory

Senior technical leadership, without a full-time hire.

Many companies need a CTO's judgement a few days a month, not five days a week. Mark spent nine years as co-founder and CTO of Thunderbite, growing the team from two to twenty-five people through its acquisition by Xtremepush. Codeva brings that experience to your team as a fractional CTO or for a focused review.

How we start.

For the decisions that are expensive to get wrong.

  1. 01 ยท Intro call

A free call about where you are, what is blocking you and whether we are the right fit.

  2. 02 ยท First assessment

A short, fixed-scope review of the code, the team and the plans, so the advice is based on what is actually there.

  3. 03 ยท Ongoing role

If it helps, a monthly arrangement with a fixed number of days that you can scale up or down.

What this replaces

Hiring a full-time CTO too early

Big technical decisions without a senior view

Agency estimates nobody on your side can check

How we can help.

As much or as little as you need.

Questions we get.

What is a fractional CTO?

A senior technology leader who works with your company part-time, typically a few days a month. You get CTO-level decisions on architecture, hiring and roadmap without the cost of a full-time executive.

When does a fractional CTO make sense?

When you are building a product without a senior technical person, when an outside agency builds your software and you need someone on your side, or when the team has grown and the technical decisions are getting bigger.

Can you work alongside our developers or agency?

Yes. Most of the work is with your current team: reviewing plans and code, setting direction and helping them make decisions, not replacing them.
